WATER - OUR MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCE Curated by David Taylor and Nerys Levy October 24th, 2007- January 15, 2008 Reception, Sunday, October 28th, from 2:00 - 4:30pm This exhibition by sixteen local artists (the fourth this year at the CBL on the environment) aims to document water in all its forms and capacities ….from its beauty… to its destructive powers… to its absence. The show, curated by two of the Library’s art committee members, also portrays the subject matter in many art forms - fiber, painting, photography, print making and cartography. Most of the exhibiting artists have been involved in planning the exhibit and their work is accompanied by written statements which will appear alongside their work and factoids about water. Exhibiting artists are Louise Francke, Bob Gilgor, Manchi Ho, Nerys Levy, Joan Meade, Karen Meredith, Susan Neulist, Alex O'Connor, Elaine O'Neal, Susan Rosefielde, John Rosenthal, David Taylor, Lauren Rosenthal, Wojtek Wodjynski, Suzanne Zizzi, and Intergrated Water Systems. This timely exhibition is an ambitious attempt to grapple with the realities of our present day water situation.
