Kristin Leonard in her open studio in Carrboro
Kristin Leonard works primarily in paint, textiles and papier mâché, but also offers a variety of cards in her open studio.

Wall hangings of painted silk, papier mâché vases, baskets, and bowls, and embellished, brightly colored pins are other items Kris offers. Mixed media paintings and sculpture, such as the one seen here above her head, are unique items created by Leonard.

Ronan Peterson's art at his Chapel Hill Studio

We first saw the creative pottery of Ronan Peterson a couple of months ago in the mountains of North Carolina at Penland Gallery. Originally from Poplar, after earning his B.A. at UNC, he studied at John C. Campbell Folk School, with Asheville area potters, then Penland, before recently moving back to Chapel Hill.

Diane Manning creates gorgeous watercolors of flowers, people and places, which she displays in her elegant home in historic Chapel Hill. Intricately painted borders are a distinctive marking which grace the edges of some of her work, creating a frame within a frame.
