Johnny Howard started out his business in the early 70s. Back then his store was on West Weaver St, just up from Sparrow's Plumbing. In 1977, he moved to his current location on West Main St. that originally was part of Goldston's Lumber Mill decades ago. His interest in raising pumpkins was roused by Red Parker, who eventually closed his pumpkin farm near Jordan Lake. Johnny grows several varieties and has countless shapes, colors, and sizes.
