Jeff Raskin -
After test-driving careers as lump coal distributor (too much coal dust), gift packing/delivery dude (too few acceptable hand-tied bows), and swimming
coach (way too much yelling), Jeff Raskin has been working in the communication business for well over thirty years. Jeff, as an award-winning audio and video editor, has contributed to feature films, documentaries, television programs aired on PBS, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, and Animal Planet, and literally hundreds of non-broadcast programs for corporate clients big and small. Jeff currently owns and operates N8Cutter, a full service post production and consultation company based in Chapel Hill. When not editing, Jeff enjoys (in no particular order) talking about technology, food in every form, being married to Melanie, spoiling his cat, and sleeping.
Melanie Raskin - An award-winning public relations/television writer and actress since 1982, Melanie Raskin has had fun getting the message to audiences ranging from children to older adults, line-workers to CEOs, sales forces to consumers. Highlights of her career include a week with the Hollywood Police Department on the Sunset Strip, riding with a trucker, channeling her inner chicken for a commercial radio campaign, and working with fitness guru Richard Simmons. Active in her community, she's served on the local, regional and international boards of the International Association of Business
Communicators (IABC) and as chapter president and 3-time Silver Reels Festival chair of the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill chapter of ITVA (International Television Association, now MCAI), and producer of the national association's Golden Reel awards show in Philadelphia. She's been the leader of the Triangle Writers Group since 1985 and volunteers at the Carrboro Farmers Market.
