A widowed, unemployed nurse and mother of three living in the largest slum in East Africa, she had an idea for helping her community. She dreamed of creating a medical clinic in her home of Kibera. With a $26 grant from Rye Barcott, Tabitha launched her idea – selling vegetables in a neighboring slum and saving up enough money to open a 24-hour medical clinic out of her home.
